Image quality in settings vs live

I noticed that image quality in "Camera Settings" (where I can take a snapshot) is significantly better than in recordings and pictures taken during view.  Is there any way to make the recordings and pictures taken with the same quality as in the snapshot under settings?

Try and take the jpg/picture and then download it....

it does appear that the 'library' picture is not as sharp as the 'snapshot' in settings.  But, after I did a download and compared the two pics seemed to be closer in quality.
