I only have the one Arlo camera, but I noticed something curious.

When I look at the live stream or recording, about once every 2 seconds, the image briefly goes a little blurred and out of focus, then immediately sharpens again. It's definitely not random - it's always the same time frame.

I thought it could be the shutter speed, but changing that didn't make any visible difference.
I tried viewing the live stream from both my Android and the PC. Same on both.

Any ideas what this might be caused by or how to fix it?

You can not fix it... it's a product of the key frames used in the compression scheme for the video.

Sounds like a reasonable explanation. I'm guessing that is also related to the smearing of the videos that we see. If a key frame gets dropped, you get that smearing until the next key frame resets the image.

It would be nice if there was a function in Arlo to change the compression rate based on our internet speed. For those of us with fibre optic, we have enough bandwidth to support higher image quality and less compression.

Either that ( possible good reason ) or server glich dropping something or base compression loss.

The request for controlling compression ( other than 3 quality video choices ) was put in the request area... so add kudos.

I'm not seeing any posts related to "compression" in the Idea Exchange search.

Can you post the link to the post you were referring to, and I'll give it kudos.
