How can i get the red lights to stay off for good. I don't want them to show up when motion

Turn off Night Vision in Settings.

Will I still be able to record abs see it

You will need to provide external lighting to get a get picture.

The reddish leds are the IR illuminators that are slightly visable to the eye ( 850nm wavelenght )
