Hi all,
I've recently moved into a new home and found that there are 2 security cameras – which I presumed were wired – that are actually wireless, rechargeable cameras... from looking online it seems they are the Arlo Netgear HD ones (see image links) Can anyone confirm?https://www.dropbox.com/s/1kug15q3xg6wggz/IMG_4839.jpg?dl=0 I'm wondering what I need to get these up and running again? I presume a rechargeable battery pack, but is there anything else? I downloaded the app but it didnt really work, presumably as I dont have them live yet. Are there any issues I may face?
Any advice would be great, as I'd love to get these up and running and if I need to purchase additional things I want to be sure I'm getting the correct things.
Thanks

You'd need an Arlo base station - have you run across that? They look like routers, and yours likely was also branded as Netgear Arlo. (Netgear divested Arlo in 2018, your cameras are older than that).
Any Arlo base would work with these particular cameras, but newer bases support more camera models. You'd want at least a VMB4000, and perhaps a smarthub (VMB4540 or VMB5000). New bases stations are scarce right now (and the ones that are out there are often overpriced). So if you are not in a rush, you might want to wait until the supply chain issues clear up.
BTW, the manual for your cameras is here: https://www.arlo.com/en-us/images/documents/arlo_wirefree/arlo_wirefree_um.pdf
As far as batteries go, your cameras need four CR132 batteries. These can be expensive, so many people who are still using those cameras are using rechargeble ones. Tenergy were certified to work with Arlo some years back, but I think that deal has lapsed. Still, those batteries should still work.
Newer Arlo cameras use custom rechargable lithium batteries.

Thanks Stephen, that's great info. I've just looked at the base stations and yes, I see what you mean... they're not cheap are they, even second hand! I'll keep an eye out now you've given me that info.
Regarding the batteries yes, I had looked at this, which I thought might have worked and seemed reasonable... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185051609343?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2763.l2649
Does sometimes make you think should I just upgrade, rather than trying to figure out how to resuse already dated cameras, but I'm not huge on needing the latest tech going, so if these can work again for a fraction of the cost I'm willing to give it a go, maybe then after a while I could look to add more or upgrade.
Thanks

They might work well, but it's hard to know with unbranded batteries - which often don't meet the specs they claim.
You do need 3.7 volts (which these appear to have). If they don't actually deliever 2800mAh, then they would work, but not last very long.
