Hi all,
Yesterday I had my app UI experience force upgraded to the new UI and a trial of arlo secure put in place. This lost custom modes etc which is frustrating but also I had my account shared with my partner. After the forced upgrade they still see the old UI and are not able to access any cameras, view recordings etc.
Three questions:
1) Is there a way to upgrade their account to the new UI so that they can see cameras etc?
2) After the 30 day trial I understand it will default back to the 7 day free?
3) Is there any particular functionality I lose when it defaults back that means I won't be able to do geofencing and schedules like I did before?
Thanks!

1) Each user that was granted access can choose to add a Pro 5 camera even though they don't have one. The first step is to migrate the account to the new UI after which they can cancel the install. They then need to click on Home at the top and choose the bottom choice. Each user gets a default Home location so they need to choose yours. I suggest renaming Home to make this obvious.
2) Yes, when the trial expires all reverts to as before. Be sure that you don't start using premium features such as activity zones, etc. or when the trial expires you'll be nagged to get a sub.
3) Schedules and geofencing are supported in the new UI although there are some subtle issues that you may encounter. Read this FAQ and embedded links and ask questions:

Thanks jguerdat for a great answer.
In the old UI I had geofencing set a custom mode when I arrived home. This custom mode had the cameras off during the day and then turn on from 10pm and off at 7am so I had security at night. I'll do some more reading to figure out if I can create the same kind of result with automations.
The other thing I used to do was have my arlo light enabled during the day (without notifications) as a trigger for an alexa routine. When I try and do this in the new app I get a notification even if I have disabled the notification. I'm not sure why. I'll try and figure this out too and come back to the forum if I can't figure it out.

Until custom modes return, you should still be able to use the existing modes to schedule and use geofencing to do what you need.
First, all cameras should be listed with rules and armed in Arm Away. Once that's verified, create a schedule that is set at 10 PM to change the mode to Arm Away. Create a second schedule that changes mode to Standby (which should have no rules in it). at 7 AM. Then set up a Leave automation (geofencing) that changes the mode to Arm Away and an Arrive automation that changes back to Standby. There's no need for a custom mode in any of this.
I can't speak for anything about the Arlo security lights since 1) they're EOL and 2) I haven't used them in a very long time.
