Hi! On the website, https://my.arlo.com/#/settings/privacy/geofence-devices, I have multiple devices listed. I see the Delete button, click it, select Remove from the pop-up, and then nothing happens. I have also tried this on the iOS app version 5.0.5. which has the same behavior. (Trying to paste an image, but I cannot seem to do that.) Not sure if this matters, but the devices I am trying to delete are from users who were granted VIEW access to one or more of my cameras. Thanks!

It does matter.  If they still have access, they need to remove the devices from their accounts.

Is that a defect or by design? None of the guests live remotely close which is odd that their devices would be added to my location's geofence AND that I cannot remove them from my account. Plus, isn't it a privacy issue if I can see all the devices they have? Thanks for your help!

No idea.  Could be both I guess.

You aren't really seeing all their devices.  Often there is duplication - I've seen my own phone listed twice after I updated the app.  Others are old devices that had the app installed on it at some point.

Hi @Ben_in_Chicago ,

While these devices "are from granted users",

  • Are they just 1 device from each of the granted users?  If so, I'd say this is by design, since the 1 device from a granted user is also included for geofencing consideration (in terms of "all devices" and "any 1 device".
  • Do you see the same device from 1 granted user duplicated multiple times?  If this is your case, then many users in this community (including myself) consider this an ISSUE to be resolved by ARLO.  It is highly suspected to be related to the geofencing issue that many of us have been suffering and complaining.

It's pretty obvious that duplicated geofencing devices creates issues with geofencing.

In my case, the duplicates showed up when I updated the app.  Note I was already using "Feed", so this was not triggered by the migration - just updating to a new version.

As far as deletion problem goes, since the geofencing devices have to be added by the shared user (both when they accept the invite, and later on), it makes sense that they can only be deleted by the shared user.  But the system should tell you that when you try to delete them from the wrong account - and not just ignore the attempt.
