Connecting Arlo to a password protected wifi

I have tried to sync my base and Arlo but can not.  I have tried numerous times and still fail.  I am assuming it's due to my password protected wifi.  So how do I connect it with that issue???  BEYOND frustrated and ready to just get my money back!!!

What lights are on or blinking on the base station?
What LED is on the camera?
What's your technique to sync?
Have you read the user manual?
