Setting up new system.  Followed instructions - base station shows green light for power and solid amber for internet.  My "router" shows a powered device connect by LAN.  On-line Arlo set up says "base station not discovered".  I went through Arlo trouble shooting instructions:  unplugged unit, waited and replugged - not corrected.  Tried different device on LAN connection and it worked.  (My LAN connection is through a Netgear booster station for a WiFi hotspot).  Before I purchased this set-up, I did an on-line query and got the answer that this type of internet connection would work.  Is there any way to make this Arlo base station work and connect to the internet?

Amber Internet LED means it's connected to the router but not to the servers. That implies the router is blocking access. Who owns the router, you or the ISP? If it's the ISP, they have to change settings. If it's yours, a quick thing to do is reset the router and only set up what you have to have, such as your WiFi settings. Security settings can block access to arlo.netgear.com on ports 80, 443 and 123.

Agree. You need to check the required ports aren't blocked
