Change in subscription and recording

I've started receiving notifications about needing to start a subscription with my Arlo setup at home.

 

I've been running the same setup for years with H8 cameras and have not had any issues and seemed to have free 30 days recording on my devices. 

 

I purchased an additional two cameras H9's to go with my H8 setup and now apparently I don't have recording capability at all anymore?? 

I disconnected two cameras to allow use of the new H9's has this caused some issue with my account now? Or all cameras require a subscription for recording now? 

Are there any other options for recording? Pretty disappointed that I'm now expected to pay a subscription to access the functions I've had for free previously. 

Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

You could provide further details on your cameras and Base equipment. Camera and base model numbers can be found in the app under settings/support/your device.

camera model starts with VMCxxxx and base with vmbxxxx.

You may also have labels inside the camera’s battery compartment and bottom of the base.

The "H" revision numbers aren't very useful, as they don't identify the camera model.  (The "H" is just the hardware revision for the model, and they are not unique).

 

There are two possibilities here:

 

One is that the free 7-day cloud storage for legacy cameras is limited to 5 unsubscribed cameras in the account.  If you go over this limit, you need a subscription.

 

The second is that Arlo stopped offering this storage for new camera models about 5 years ago.  All the currently sold cameras require a subscription for cloud storage.

 

That said, if you removed the newly purchased cameras from your account, then you should still be getting the 7-day storage on the remaining old cameras.
