If I would have a router in another building than the base station, would it be possible to let the basestation function as an accesspoint and connect my devices to the basestation instead of the router? Don´t ask why I need this setup, but I do, and I´d like to know if it is possible.

No... the Arlo base is a self contained wifi system for connections to the cameras only
