I have had a 3 camera arlo system for about 9 months.  About 2 weeks ago I had the time to install one of them on my roof as I intended to when I bought it, so I can monitor if there is someone walking from house to house over the roof to try to break in trough the domes on the roof.  This camera worked Ok for a week and yesterday it appeared as the device is not connected, before that it alerted a few times of movement from birds.  Got on the roof and unmounted it, and it was dead, tried with a new set of batteries and it worked.  Before it went dead I never got a low battery warning and the battery status was showing full.

The camera was installed on a wall mount under the chimney little roof (for some protection for direct sunlight and rain), pointing in a way it captures all the roof of the house and part of the horizon.  Have any of you experience something like this with an outside installation? Could it be that the camera getting a part of the horizon in the field of view is having a hard time with the motion sensor consuming the batteries altough not triggering motion alerts and recording?

All the suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advace.

Harry

It may be more likely that the camera is having problems maintaining a connection with the base station, eating up the batteries.

HarryDan,

One way to test would be to swap a camera that is behaving normally with the affected camera. This will let you know if the problem is with the location or if it follows the affected camera.
