For several months my base station has difficulty setting my mode. When armed and I return home it doesn't notify me for as much as 15minutes sometimes. Does it need an upgrade or replacement.

Birl,

Many users have had success resolving this issue by checking their mobile devices battery saving settings. Some devices have battery optimization settings that close or put apps to sleep after they have been idle for a period of time. Check your mobile devices settings and be sure that an exception is made for Arlo if you are running battery saving settings.

Have you tried a simple power button reboot of the base?

Great suggestion. Yes I have. In fact I connected it to a netgear router hoping that would improve it but no difference from Spectrum router. I do notice that I need to close all apps when setting modes. It's as if Arlo is competing for resources but I don't see anyway to set priority.

What phone and OS ?

As to the app, you would have to check the settings of the app itself in the phone... background update allowed ?

It would be worth trying a browser to help identify an app issue.

Edit:  I guess you're using geofencing so a browser won't be useful.

My phone is an Android Samsung S7. I do not use geofencing I set mode as I come and go. But now that you mention it this all started when that option was added to the modes.

I run an S7 / os 7 ...the only time I see this now and then is when the phone auto logs over to my wifi and drops the LTE... some time it can't decide during the switch and will say your not on wifi network... sorta pause but I just restart it or have learned to wait till the phone says it has switched

Now I'm trying geofencing and I'm getting false 'away' alerts followed by 'home' alerts. I have a strong wifi signal so it shouldn't be dropping wifi which might change the status.

Yes this is still a problem. I would like to use Geofencing but I get a switching notification from Home to Away while I'm still at home. Any ideas how to stabilize? Not a real problem just annoying.

Thanks I'm able to put Arlo on a do not stop list. Initially it looks like it works. I'm going to try Geofencing again.
