I set up both cameras and out of nowhere days later one appears as a base station showing my camera as a connected device. I am connecting straight through my router so I do not know why this happens. I did factory reset and the same thing happened again. The next day it shows up as base station on my Arlo app.

I'm having the exact same problem. I just installed three Essential Outdoor Camera 2K/HD (2nd Generation)
cameras. Two of them are fine, but one of them is showing as a Base Station in the app. I tried deleting and readding the camera, but got the same result. Here's a screenshot:

Update to my previous post: This seems to have resolved itself overnight. When I checked the app this morning, the device is now correctly showing as an Essential Camera and I now have full access to all the settings. Interestingly, I did not do anything to fix this, it must have just done some routine maintenance that straightened things out.
