1. Arlo uses SSID called ARLO_xxx. Now the thief knows all he has to do is to buy one of those chinese 10/20W wifi boosters which will disrupt all arlo communication.
2. Police does not accept camera evidence without timestamps.

Question: Is Arlo a security system or just a toy?

Do they really need to see an SSID to detect and disrupt your wifi? The villains won't be able to hack into it. It has no password that they can break.
