I've seen a fair few posts where ppl have a base station that fails and only has an amber power light on.  I have had this problem but I've persisted and tried to track the reason.  In the past 5 occasions this has happened I've been able to track it to an auto update on my pc. It's taken some fiddling but I do get the base station back until the next update anyway.

Turn everything off:  pc, base station and modem.  I mean off not restart.

turn the pc back on and then the modem.  Make sure your internet connection is working then turn on the base station.  It's taken me a few shots some times and other times it first time but it only ever happens when my pc has run an update.

Hope this helps.

Interesting that you've seen this but a computer update has absolutely nothing to do with the base operation. There is no direct connection between the base and computer - it's all server-based. I strongly suspect that you have a hardware problem with either the base or the power supply that's intermittent in which case only contacting support will resolve.

As a PS to above.... even with the base not hooked into the router , after power up and booting the POWER led goes green.

The only time the POWER led is amber is during a reboot of the base ( or a hardware failure )

I set up my Arlo base with 3 cameras and they worked fine for about 4 days. Now all my cameras say "Your Arlo device appears offline."

My base showed these color lights from left to right:  green, amber, green

The first thing I tried to do, per the Arlo Community, is turn my base off and back on using the power button. Once I did this, the base station only shows the leftmost light as amber.

What do I do next?

I have a spare base (i bought two systems- each with a base and two cameras, and the other base is still in the original packaging) but I am afraid to use it if the cameras are already synched to the first base.

I really hope I don't have to re-synch the cameras because two of them are mounted high off the ground.

First try the power supply from your second base.  If that doesn't help, you should remove all devices from Settings, My Devices and start fresh.  Hold the reset button until the LEDs flash amber. If the power LED remains amber after 2 minutes or so (when the base finished rebooting) it's a hardware problem.  Open a case with support.  You can then use the second base to regain your system while the other one is being worked on.
