Arlo Base Station will not connect to internet. Need to do a firmware update and have subscription??

Arlo home base will not connect to the internet and Tec support says it needs to do a firmware update and we need a subscription to do so! Is this correct?

I'm guessing you didn't use Arlo support but googled it instead. Use the Contact SUpport selection at the bottom of these pages.

 

A subscription is never needed for a firmware update. Even if it did, it's apparently not connected to the Internet so how would they know? What have you tried? What do you see? What are the LEDs on the base showing? Power and Internet should be green.
