Add device won’t discover chime

Spent a whole morning trying to re-add 2 chimes that dropped connection. Chimes just went to a solid orange light and could not be discovered going through add device sequence in the Arlo app.

A number of steps required (iPhone 13) to resolve;

- Disable any VPN on phone

- Factory reset chimes (hold sync button until white light flashes faster)

- Restarted base station

- For each chime; click sync button on base station, click sync button on chime (hold until white light flashes). Chime light should eventually flash faster when it connects to base station then go out.

- Now you can go through the Arlo app, follow instructions to add new device adding chime, just immediately click through the steps ignoring waiting for light and each chime was immediately discovered. Then took me through renaming device and add to doorbell.

 

i followed every other chime connection issue thread on the community and only the above steps resolved my issue.

 

Hope it helps others in a similar predicament.
