Activating cameras with no motion detection

If I am away from home, can I manually activate my cameras from my iphone or does there have to be motion for the cameras to be activated and viewed?

You can start a LIVE VIEW remotely and if wanted also start a manual RECORD on you iphone.android , or PC

So the answer is yes
