Hey my father passed 10/29/2020. I inherited this house and would like access to his arlo devices. He has a hub and several cameras. I cannot get any real person to talk to me, any advise?

Hi Mindycason,

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. What you could do is factory reset the Arlo devices that your father owned so it gets removed from his account and then add the devices to your Arlo account. Read here to learn how: How to factory reset Arlo devices?

Unfortunately that won't work unless you know his login credentials.

I thought the same thing when I read the response.

Also fascinating is that you can now factory reset the Pro2 cameras themselves individually according to the knowledge base. Still need to reload the camera setups which is less painful than doing the base station factory reset.

Not sure if that is a new feature, or if the KB article is mistaken.  If anyone has sucessfully executed the reset procedure on a Pro or Pro 2, it'd be good to hear from them.

But after doing a factory reset how do you remove it from the old account of a deseased person? As obviously no access to their account. can you just add to a new account?

Suggest you get the deceased estate lawyer to write a request to arlo to have the asset ownership transferred.

An estate lawyer for access to a arlos base. Guess probably cheaper to trash it and get a new ring system.

@Mindycason: That might not be necessary.  I suggest sending a private message to @JamesC and see if he can help (he'd need details that you shouldn't post publicly).  You do this via the envelope icon in the upper right of the forum page.

If you know your father's email address, then include it in the PM (since it would also be his Arlo account username).
