I've read the instructions on setting up different modes to enable each of our 2 cameras to run on different schedules. However, I seem to be overlooking some critical step. Can someone set me straight?

1. Devices shows two distinct cameras with distinct names/serial numbers.

2. Each device has its own Settings where you can turn it on or off.

3. Each device records in the Library.

4. When you go to Mode, the only listing is CAM1. CAM1 covers both distinct cameras.

5. If I go to Schedule, Edit, Add, there is no option to select each camera individually. The entire schedule applies to CAM1, which is both cameras.So that doesn't work for me.

6. If I go to New Mode, name it, select the first camera, The ONLY Trigger is "When Motion is Detected" (which implies 24 hours a day)

7. The Schedule, however, still runs in unison on both cameras. I want one camera motion detecting 24 hours, and one camera motion detecting nighttime only. Due to the Radial Dial format, I can only select either Armed, Disarmed, Schedule, Geofencing, or a custom mode. I can't select "Use the Schedule on the custom modes." Nor can I seem to apply different schedule to two different cameras under the Schedule Edit tool.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

You have two cameras... A & B ...

The default mode is ARMED which will activate BOTH CAMERAS

for motion detect recording.

You need to add a custom mode to split up the two cameras

You would be able to have a max of 3 modes...Armed ( a & b on ), Custom A, and custom B

read this;

Now remember that SCHEDULE is not really a Mode, but just a timer to turn on and off your other modes ( defeault or custom )

So create a new mode...( the trigger is IF MOTION DETECTED is not 24/7 unless you have chosen that mode to use.) for camera A

Now in the Schedule, you can use the default ARMED mode when you want both cameras activated during night and the custom Mode for camera A when you want it only at the other times

example;

Default mode Armed ( both cameras ) at night and the custom mode with only one camera the other times

Scheduling schedules recording modes. You will need to set up a new mode, perhaps calling it Daytime. In daytime, only make a rule to record on motion for the camera that you want recording 24 hours a day.

Then in the schedule, set ARMED for midnight til 7am (or whatever time you consider night time). Set DAYTIME for 7am til 7pm (or whenever you want) and ARMED again from 7pm til midnight

This should work as you want and also familiarise yourself with setting motion sensitivity and recording duration to your desired settings.

I'm a little lost on  your CAM1 mode since you say it's the only mode but then later say there's ARMED, DISARMED etc

Hope that works for you

Thank you. I thought each Mode was a selection - so you either selected "Armed all the time' OR 'Schedule' OR 'Custom mode.'  All I saw under Schedule was Armed, which I thought this meant Arm on this schedule (not related to the Armed mode) - it wasn't until I clicked Armed that I saw I could change it to schedule a custom mode.  It was confusing - but I think it's working now after I read both responses here.  Thanks!

I just meant under the Mode tab, I only saw a heading called CAM1 - I expected there to be a CAM1 and CAM2, one for each camera, that would let me separate out my selections for each under their appropriate heading. Between this solution and the other solution, I understand now and got it working. I would have selected both as solutions, but couldn't. So thanks for your help - both responses gave me what I needed.
