wired doorbell connections

Hello and thanks for the time and effort you take to resolve this issue.
A description of the situation:
1. doorbell/camera/microphone/ speaker unit connected to 24 power supply by connecting 2 wires [+ and -] from power supply to the unit
2. wires from little white Arlo box [forgot name of it] connected to 2 terminal of existing 6 volt chime.
2a. the chime only gets power when the doorbell press contact is engaged; connecting the little Arlo box to its terminals will only give it power when the press contact is engaged. If the little box can operate properly with this power supply , the existing wiring / schema is ok. If it needs constant power, the wires of the existing chime must be reconnected to the power supply. If this is done, the chime will go off, which is obviously not expedient. Does the little Arlo box prevent this from happening?
2b. the existing chime uses 6 volts, the front door unit uses 24 volts. Can the existing 6 volt chime be connected to the [if I recall correctly] 8 volt terminal on the power supply, or should it be connected to its own old 6 volt adapter?

This is the key problem - the chime doesn't meet the power requirements for the doorbell.
The circuit flows from transformer->AVD1001->chime->transformer. With normal chimes, you can't use different power for the chime.
Also, it's unclear to me if you have an AC or DC chime. Arlo requires AC.
You could possibly use a relay for the doorbell (transformer->AVD1001->relay->transformer) and have the relay complete the circuit for the existing chime (acting like an ordinary doorbell). You might need an electrician to install that.

With the AVD1001 in the circuit, power is always flowing through the chime - but more power flows when the doorbell is pressed. The power kit diverts the low power that is always flowing away from the chime, but when the doorbell is pressed, the higher power is going through the chime (which is why it rings).
