We recently bought a VMB4540 hub to upgrade some of our cameras to 4K.  We were able to add all our old and new cameras to the new hub.  Our Arlo doorbell AVD1000B will not connect with new hub when it did with our old VMB4000 hub.

Any suggestions?  we've reset, and reset, and tried many many times but the app will not find the doorbell.

Thanks.

A possibility is to add your old base back into your account and connect the doorbell to that again. Not the slickest solution but it may work.

Did your user interface (UI) change when you added new cameras? That is, do you see Library to view recordings (old UI) or Feed (new UI)? That may explain the inability to add the audio doorbell due to some incompatibility.

Unfortunately installing the doorbell isn't as easy as it should be.

That wasn't needed unless you are wanting to use direct access to local storage.  The Ultras are compatible with the VMB4000 base (and are the only 4K Arlo cameras).

So as @jguerdat says you can use both hubs, or even just use the VMB4000.  And if you have a subscription, you can also try connecting the doorbell directly to your home wifi.

BTW, ignore the spam post in this thread that falsely claims this is a "known issue" - the mods will eventually remove it.
