do I need a vmb4500 or 5000 to record video for 30 days.
I currently have 4 vmc3030 cameras connected to my base station vmb3000.

Correct. It's not compatible with that base station. https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/Arlo-SmartHub-and-Base-Station-Compatibility
It will connect to your home wifi w/o a base.

The simplest option is to get a subscription for the doorbell.
You can also get a new base, and use direct access to local storage in the app. You'd want either a VMB4540 or a VMB5000 - not a VMB4500.
There are limitations to direct access though:
- recordings are only available from the app (not the browser).
- recordings are only available using the primary account (not friend accounts)
- no ability to make manual recordings or snapshots
- no thumbnails
- remote access requires router settings changes that some find difficult - and won't work on some networks, including Starlink and T-mobile broadband.
Also, activity zones require a subscription, and often are needed with the doorbell (since it cannot be aimed once installed).
