so my camera records 15 sec intervals give or take, usually the vehicle pulling up and an individual getting out and walking up to doorbell...

Then next thumbnail will be the individual walking away 15ish seconds walking away getting back in vehicle but its not recording the constant motion and there's a rather lengthy delay between clips

There will always be a delay between the end of one recording and the begoinning of a new one. 15 seconds seems excessive - I'd expect 10 seconds or less.

However, I suspect what you really need to do is experiment with your modes and rules to increase the recording time. All settings for recordings are there - read the FAQs here on changing recording duration, motion sensitivity, custom modes, etc. I prefer timed recording over the "record until motion stops" due to the need for the camera to actually be able to detect motion as it moves around.
