Wireless doorbell does not ring multiple phones properly

I have an iPhone (main phone) and android phone set up with wireless doorbell.
but, when the door bell rings the second phone (android) does not always ring ie it rings about 20% of time. when it does ring, it only rings when i choose to dismiss the call on my main phone.
this doesn’t sound right. It sounds buggy. My expectation is that multiple phones should ring at the same time, and whoever is available will pick up.
Please advise on how to fix

Which version of Android is this device running? May I ask which troubleshooting steps you have performed so far? I don't want to suggest anything you have previously performed.
