For a few weeks now, my homepod mini’s don’t chime when the doorbell is rang. I get a notification on my iphone, ipad, camera works in apple homekit, but none of the two homepods give sound. I have reinstalled the homepods several times, but this made no difference. Any tips?

Thanks,

Gunther

Hi @GuntherV

Have you tried removing and reading your Arlo account to Apple Home app

I provided a How-to article with more info: https://kb.arlo.com/000062279/How-do-I-connect-my-Arlo-device-to-Apple-Home

Hi Shane, I didn’t try that yet, because I’m not sure anymore how I did this a while ago. But maybe this is the only solution than. Will try it later, thanks!

You can try this steps:

Check Settings in the Home App:
Open the Home app on your iOS device.
Find your Doorbell accessory in the list.
Tap on it to access its settings.
Look for the “Notifications” section.
Make sure the “Chime on HomePod” setting is activated.

Power Cycle the HomePod Mini:
Sometimes a simple restart can resolve issues.
Unplug your HomePod Mini from the power source for about 30 seconds.
Plug it back in and wait for it to boot up.
Test if the chime works when the doorbell rings.

Check HomePod Volume and Mute:
Ensure that the volume on your HomePod Mini is not muted.
You can adjust the volume using the Home app or directly on the HomePod Mini itself.

Verify HomePod Software Updates:
Make sure your HomePod Mini is running the latest software version.
Go to the Home app, find your HomePod Mini, and check for any available updates.

Network Connectivity:
Ensure that your HomePod Mini is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your other devices.
A stable network connection is essential for proper communication.

Reset HomePod Mini (if necessary):
If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your HomePod Mini:
Open the Home app.
Find your HomePod Mini.
Tap on it, scroll down, and select “Remove Accessory”.
Then set it up again as a new accessory.
