I just installed a wired doorbell and it is exhibiting a “blink” that is not described in the troubleshooting info. The blink is inconsistent and stops after about 2 minutes - attaching a video. After it is unplugged (wait for a while) then reattached, the device exhibits the same issue.

I read the inside chime with a voltmeter shows 16v. 16v is also read at the exterior wires.

Thank you for your help.

To me, it appears that the longer "flashes" are due to motion detection (you're close to the camera so that would be easy to trigger). However, the brief flashes aren't right - I suspect a faulty doorbell or possibly a transformer that can't supply enough current even though the voltage is correct. If the transformer specs look good, I'd swap the doorbell at  the store.

Thanks for the reply! I tested the voltage at the Arlo once it was connected: 15.7 (when disconnected its 16V). I decided to replace the transformer. Once the transformer was replaced the Arlo now works fine. It is at 28V which is beyond the recommended supply. Should I fix this - is this a new problem? Thanks again.

I don't know what the actual tolerance is to over/under-voltage of the doorbells. I wouldn't be very surprised that 28v could work for years but it may just be safer to use a transformer that stays within the supported range, perhaps one that is more like 20-22v to be sure.
