Trying to understand why I can't get the doorbell camera to record video that is accessible thru the app. Nor when I have the live feed going am I able to manually capture video or take snapshots. Don't have a subscription but the user guide acts that is not necessary. Be nice if Arlo at least had a support email. If you don't have a paying subscription seems like you are pretty much out in the cold. The only way I can see video captured by the doorbell camera is to look at the thumb drive attached to the base. And these have generated file names so you really have a hard time finding the right one. Ant help understanding how this is supposed to work and the limitations would be helpful.

You can use the doorbell w/o a subscription, but you don't get cloud recording (including manual recording or snapshots).

If you had a VMB4540 or VMB5000 base, you could use direct access to local storage w/o a subscription - but that isn't available on the VMB4000.
