Wired doorbell AVD 1001 release pin doesnt release cover with either original release pin or paper clip.
I had to replace a faulty modem/router with a new one and now tryin to add doorbell, but need to remove cover to add to new modem.

Yep Stephen, Thanks for the assistance with this. Finally got the releases pin to release the cover, so I could put the release pin into the back reset and reset. then added the doorbell to my new modem/router. You are right also would be much easier to stay with original named network. appreciate your response and help. Arlie

A good strategy here is to set up the replacement to use the same wifi network name and password as the old one. Then there is no need to change the setup on your various devices.

The "release pin" doesn't do what you think. It resets the doorbell (when it is powered). It doesn't let you take the doorbell apart. See page 76 here:
