Hi,

I have 2 questions before purchasing:

1. How do I reach a live person by Chat or by phone for an issue not on the community? Your competitors allow me to reach a live person. I haven' t found a way to do so with Arlo. Please be aware - this is a concern prior to purchasing

2. What kind of WiFi security is used and what precautions do you have to prevent hacking my 2.4GHz network?

Thanks

You'll need a subscription for cloud storage after the 3-month trial runs out (current cost is $2.99 per month in the US).  The subscription includes phone support, which is accessed via the app.

The doorbell is simply another WiFi client - it uses WPA2 with AES encryption.  Encryption is required, it will not connect to an open WiFi network.

Arlo does provide frequent firmware updates, and those do include security fixes.  The only CVE I've seen for the AVD1001 (wired doorbell) is here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062602/Security-Advisory-for-Aggregation-and-Fragmentation-Attacks-Against-Wi...

Thank you.
What subscription is needed after 3 months if I use a Wired Video Doorbell and a Arlo Essential Wireless Security Camera? I hope it's not $9.99/mon because that seems expensive for just 2 cameras.

Details are here: https://kb.arlo.com/88/What-are-the-available-Arlo-subscription-plans-and-how-much-cloud-recording-i...

For your specific example, you'd get two single-camera subscriptions - $5.98 per month in the US.

BTW, this is a user-to-user forum, and I do not work for Arlo.
