These don't seem to work together, which should make everyone at Arlo feel ashamed. Surely there is a plan to work this out? Any update on when this might get fixed? It boggles my mind that you'd have these two products and they wouldn't work together.

Assuming you mean the Arlo chime, it does work together - got a setup like that here which works fine.

How did you get it to work? All I could find on this community was a "solution" saying that they do not, in fact, work together: https://community.arlo.com/t5/Arlo-Video-Doorbell/Video-Doorbell-amp-Arlo-Chime/m-p/1741557

When I go into the Device Settings for the Chime, and click "Add Doorbell", none show up. There is an "add new doorbell" option, which just goes to the instructions for installing the video doorbell (which is already installed).  The whole thing is kind of a mess, UX-wise

I should probably also add that I do want the video doorbell to still also activate the regular chime... the Arlo often only rings my phone 30s-1min after the button is pressed, so I'd prefer to at least have it also immediately ring the mechanical door chime, in addition to the digital chime (on a different floor, where I can't hear the mechanical chime), whenever the Arlo cloud gets around to it...

davidcox,

The post you linked above is outdated information, i'll look into archiving that thread.

Take a look here for more information on using the chime with your doorbell: How do I connect my Arlo Essential Video Doorbell to an Arlo Chime?

OK, but there is still no option to add the video doorbell to the chime. There's a dialog that says "Select which doorbell to pair" and the options are "continue", which drops me back on the device settings for the chime, and "add new doorbell" which just shows installation instructions.

To be clear, we're all talking about the WIRED doorbell, not the wireless doorbell that can be attached to existing wiring, right? The wired doorbell can use the Arlo chime. The wireless doorbell cannot.

I have the same problem. I installed mine in November 2020 and it has never worked with my mechanical chime. I'm not sure why this is so difficult to trouble shoot this. It's a lot of money to pay and a lot of work to install something permanently to my house for it not to work with my wired chime in my home.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I want the wired video doorbell to ring both the mechanical chime, and the Arlo chime (want the mechanical chime because the Arlo system is flakey and often has a long delay, and want the Arlo chim because we can't hear the mechanical chime on our third floor). This seems like something one should be able to do, but there is no apparent way to associate the wired video doorbell to the chime.

I don't have an existing chime so can't be sure of the possible interactions with having both one of those as well as with an Arlo chime. For the doorbell and Arlo chime to work together, both must be connected to a hub or base. If the doorbell is connected to WiFi, the twain shan't meet.
