The video doorbell appears to be a typical gen 1 product. Nice idea, very badly implemented.
Despite Arlo‘s so called smart alerts, and activity zones I still get countless false detect motion alerts. E.g. some weeds waving in the winds (outside activity zones) prompt a „person“ alert via „smart message“. Another one that happens repeatedly is a car driving by way outside the set activity zones, yet Arlo‘s subpar algorithm interprets the vehicle as „person“ and sends a false alert via „smart message“.
What a useless product in it‘s current stage. It appears one has either to accept to give up privacy to google or ring and use their devices, because their software actually is able to interpret motion alerts properly - or one is stuck with Arlo‘s crappy and ultimately useless Mickey Mouse „smart alerts“.
Nest hello doesn t have these problems at all.
Arlo, what are you doing about that?

WoLu,
Can you provide a screenshot of your activity zones so we can see them from the cameras point of view? This may help us better understand why you're experiencing false alerts.

These are the activity zones. I reduced them as much as possible.

Arlo recently deployed a cloud update enhancing Activity Zone accuracy. This should improve the experience for users reporting symptoms of motion detection alerts and recordings occurring outside of their defined Activity Zones. We are continuing to monitor Activity Zone behavior and will provide additional enhancements in the coming weeks.
