Kdominisse,
Yes. The Arlo Video Doorbell comes with a 3 months free trial of Arlo Smart, which enables users to store their videos in the cloud for up to 30 days. After the included 3-month trial of Arlo Smart, users can continue storing their videos in the cloud with a paid subscription, which they can view from anywhere through the Arlo App.

So if I add the the video doorbell to my system which already has 5 cameras, I will not be able to continue using the system under the Basic plan, is that correct?

Kdominisse,
You won't need to make any immediate changes by adding a doorbell to your account (that has 5 cameras currently). Your existing cameras will continue to work without a subscription to Arlo Smart.
After the three month trial expires, you will need to subscribe to an Arlo Smart Plan to use the Video Doorbell as it requires a subscription to Arlo Smart to record content to the cloud.
