Slow and speaker has become completely inunderstandable

Lately if I open the communication on my videodoorbell Wire Free Essential, no-one on the doorbell side can understand anything I'm saying. Tested it myself and the speaker is complete garbage or the audiostream is horribly corrupt.
I've cleaned the speaker holes, but there is no contamination there and I've reset the device now three times. I've tried 2 other routers with newer Wifi setups but nothing works. Is my Wire Free busted ?

If not, use the app to go to Settings, Support and choose your doorbell. Scroll to Contacts to see what official support may offer including an RMA (assuming the warranty is still in effect).
