Hello, I just bought an Arlo doorbell 2k to replace my working intercom. Is it possible to DIY without any knowledge in electrical stuff? Honestly, I really just want it to connect to the power so I don’t have to charge it. I already bought the Arlo chime, is there anyway to connect to the power without connecting to the existing chime? Or I should just get a professional electrician to do it? Thank you.

Replacing an intercom could well be an issue since it likely doesn't use the same wiring and voltages needed for the doorbell. You probably don't really need an electrician but just someone reasonably knowledgeable with installing a transformer and wiring for the new doorbell. Of course, removing the intercom probably is a good idea, too.

Thank you for your help! I ended up just using some heavy duty double sided tapes to secure it, it’s working great. It still has 94% battery after a week with 3+ visitors everyday, so I’ll probably leave the intercom for now, thanks😊
