Hi,

Is there any way to turn notifications off for certain people / members of my family?

I get tons of notifications about my family members leaving the house and coming back home which is completely unnecessary and not what I have the doorbell/camera for.

With face detection technology as it is these days I would expect to be able to exclude notifications for certain individuals?

Has this been discussed/de-prioritised?

notifications are essentially a pointless feature for me because 90% of the time I have no interest in them.

There is no way to turn it off for individual people. However, I can add this to a feature request.

Yes that would be great.

Id there visibility for customers of those feature requests?

I have reached out to our development team with that feature request. You can keep an eye out here on the community. We generally update all changes as they come.

Hello, any movement on this.  My mom's a smoker so in and out all the time and the amount of notifications has driven me crazy. I just learned about recognized people and was so excited to omit her from notifications to find i can't.  Any news would be great.  Thanks!

I do not have any ETA as of yet. I will update the community as soon as possible.

Person recognition should be able to suppress notifications for known household members, not just label them. Right now the system correctly identifies my wife and me in the feed, then alerts us anyway. That’s not smart security, that’s just noise.

Google Nest, Ring, and even budget Eufy cameras already let you silence alerts for known people while still notifying you for strangers. This is table stakes for an AI-powered camera system in 2026.

Arlo already has the infrastructure. Person Recognition works. All that’s needed is a simple toggle in Routines: “Do not notify for recognized people.”

We’re paying for Arlo Secure subscriptions because of smart AI features. This is a glaring gap that should be fixed.

We have our development team already looking into this feature request. If/When there is any change, I will reach back out to the community.
