I would love, love, love to be able to opt-out of all these "improved" security measures.
It seems incredibly obtuse to make accessing your cameras MORE DIFFICULT than before.
In my Pixel 7 Pro, I have to use the fingerprint unlock every single time someone walks past my door if I want to see what's going on - by that time the person is long gone!!
I don't care if 99% of people with Arlo cameras are OK with this - I simply want to have the choice to opt out of this incredibly stupid security enforcement - I HATE IT. Please give me the choice!!
I really hated the Ring camera I had before, please don't make me go back to that.

You should be able to disable the touch ID unlock feature in the arlo app’s settings.
Look in settings/profile/login settings.

Thanks, DannyBearAgain, but the issue isn't "touch ID", it's having to log in every time I breathe.

So, you can leave the app open on the mobile and when you get a notification you have to login to the app using the fingerprint?
Is the app logging out after 30mins?

Guys, I don't keep the app open. I only click on the notifications, and it will ask me to use my fingerprint every single time.
My phone uses face ID & a fingerprint sensor - I simply think the overbearing security imposed by the Arlo app is unnecessary and very, very irritating.
I could lose my phone and no one will access anything from it.

With my iPhone 5s, if I tap on the arlo notifications banner it asks me to use the fingerprint to go to the app then takes about 15sec for the app to load.
If I try unlocking the phone without tapping the notification it still asks me to unlock using my fingerprint or my pin code and then takes 15sec to load and another 5sec to view a camera.
Have you tried turning off your phone security?
ill advised and will still take 15sec to load and 5sec to view a camera.
So is the issue you have with the phone security or with the time it takes to access your camera or library before the subject has walked away?

I have a Pixel 7 Pro, face unlock is almost instant.
My problem is with the app ALWAYS asking for my fingerprint.
I'm only asking for an option to dial the security the heck back - is that too much to ask?
I have the Arlo doorbell and a Ring flood camera on my deck, the Ring very rarely asks for a password or fingerprint - I'd like the Arlo app to behave in the same way.
Look, I know such an option does not exist, I'm simply trying to get someone to maybe think about it and perhaps see the logic in what I'm saying, and maybe, maybe implement a change. Surely I can't be the only Arlo user who is frustrated by this?
BTW, the websites pretty much behave just like the apps, Arlo gives me a screen that says "sign in", then another with "login", then the spinny thing with "please wait", then I see the camera, and if I want a live view it takes about 10 seconds. With the Ring portal I'm instantly looking at my camera, and the live view takes about 2 seconds.
When I get an alert, I'd like to see the damn thing as quickly as possible, the Ring is good with this, the Arlo not so much, and all that useless security makes it that much worse.
No, I will not turn off my phone security, that would be nuts.

Agree, we’re you able to turn off the fingerprint to login option in the arlo app settings under account profile, I don’t recall you answering this?

Well, that did it - I can open an alert without having to use the fingerprint.
I assume this setting came with some update? I don't remember seeing before, and I sure as heck didn't turn it on - why would anyone turn this on?
Thanks for your help. I had thought you meant turning off the fingerprint login of the phone itself.
