I am in the installation process and notice the guide says the existing doorbell wires and hole must be in the bottom half of the Arlo mounting bracket. Is this just a suggestion to make connection easier or for safety?
My problem is I have angled siding so if I try to align the existing wires, then there would be a gap between the doorbell and my house. In order to get it to sit flush, the holes and existing wires would be in the middle of the mounting bracket, which the app tells me is the zone to avoid.
Looking for suggestions and help. Thanks!!

You just need enough space to route/connect the wires behind the mount (and not accidently damage them when the doorbell is put into place).
