I do not want a subscription.  How do I continue to record video locally to watch back without getting a subscription

You need to buy a SmartHub and connect all cameras to it. Once that's done, you have to use the hub's settings to set up local recordings/storage using at least a 16GB drive. Checking local recordings depends on which user interface (UI) you're using - the old one which uses Library to view videos or the new one that uses Feed. Note that this is NOT the app version.
