Our wired Arlo video doorbell has been working fine for years... Lately when someone pushes the button, it will:
- not ring the physical doobell
- will stay illimunated indefinitely
- will start broadcasting audio of any sound it hears
It stays in this state indefinitely (days before I noticed).
Backstory: I noticed that visitors/deliveries were pushing the doorbell button and we were not hearing the physical doobell inside and also not getting any notifications on our devices- when I went out to test the button I noticed the ring of LEDs around the button was constantly on, and the speaker in the doorbell was broadcasting a sound. When I made any loud noises the doorbell speaker, after a second or two delay, would just playback my noise... The device seemed to just be stuck in this state for days/indefinitely...
When it is "stuck" in this mode- when I look at the Devices on the app the doorbell displays a play button with a waveform looking graphic behind it- and when I press the play buttong it says "Livestream is currently in use by another device". But NONE of the devices we have that app on are livestreaming from it !? I'm sort of worried there is some kind of hacking going on...
The only recourse has been to remove the device in the app, then re-add it, at which point it starts functioning "normally" again (button pushes trigger the physical chime inside the house, and alerts go to devices) for a few days or so, after which point it goes back into this permenet ring/audio conversation mode and we are stuck missing all doorbell rings...
Has anyone come across anything like this?

No guarantees but try resetting the doorbell by following this procedure carefully:

Thanks- I think I've already done that a few times- according to that article removing the device via the app is the factory reset method (same as opening and pushing with the pin in the case where it is not app accessible).

It says that, but I'm not convinced that the software reset clears everything. So I do recommend usng the pin.
