My doorbell constantly detects movement, and there is nothing there. I’ve updated firmware, removed it and reinstalled it with no luck. The notifications are insane, please help.

Try reducing the motion sensitivity in your modes and rules (or in Default Mode Settings in the doorbell settings, depending on the user interface you are using). I happen to use 45 but you may need something else.

I have it set to 1 and it still goes off. I’ve removed and reinstalled everything, and redid the setup without any change. I’ve had the doorbell since Oct 2020.

Are you changing the motion sensitivity in your modes and rules? The motion test does not save.

Yes, in the modes section it is being changed.

Use the app and go to Settings, Support to select your camera model. Scroll down to Contacts and start talking to official support.

I've had my Arlo Wired Doorbell since summer 2023.  The motion sensitivity was at default setting of 80 and working perfectly for first 7 months.  Then suddenly last week it began detecting motion constantly for no discernable reason.

Constantly detecting motion pretty much occurring at any sensitivity above 10.  This just started out of the blue - no changes had been made to the system - similar to original poster.  Cleaning the lenses didn't do anything, and resetting the doorbell from the app menu didn't fix it either.

What seems to have worked for me is I cut power to the doorbell (remember mine is the wired version) by switching the circuit breaker off for about 30 minutes this morning.  When I powered it back on the motion detection appears to be back to normal and not triggering constantly after I restored sensitivity setting back to 80.  Hope it continues to work- fingers crossed!  Figured this may be helpful to anyone else who may encounter similar situation.

One thing to remember is that the sun's position changes over time. That can result in the sun's IR being reflected from leaves, branches, cars, etc. that can cause false triggers. Turning down the motion detection sensitivity is needed until the sun's position changes sufficiently for this to stop happening. I happen to use a setting of 45 to help avoid this.

I missed your thread when I created mine. Seems like we have had a very similar issue. as of right now I cannot turn my sensitivity past 4. https://community.arlo.com/t5/Arlo-Video-Doorbell/2nd-Gen-Doorbell-won-t-stop-quot-detecting-motion-... Is yours still working fine?

Mine is still working properly (fingers crossed) after I cut power and then powered on again.

thank you for the reply. I unplugged mine and forced it to drain completely trying to kill all power. i plugged it back in and at 30 motion sensitivity, it detects motion face down. I have it back outside set to 20 and going to see how that goes but will likely pursue a return.
