I have an Arlo Video wired doorbell connected to my Hampton Bay HB-7612-02 and HB-130-03 transformer. I want to change the doorbell chime tune but I can’t. I didn’t do the installation, an electrician did. I don’t know if the door bell has a diode connected or not. The door bell chime installation manual says the different tunes will not work without a diode connected. Is there an easy way to fix this without calling an electrician?
Thank you.

Also, this is the connection setup of the doorbell chime if it helps.

Yes, I can see that the powerkit is installed. (FWIW, that is the diode you talked about before). The transformer should work, it is within spec.
Can you make sure the switch on that powerkit is all the way in the "O" position? In the photo, it looks like it might not be.

Hi,
yes the switch is all the way to the “O” position. I should be able to hit the “tune button” (the bottom of the two you see in the picture) and hear the different chimes. But nothing happens when I do. Currently I only have the standard two-tone chime (ding-dong).

So that works ok?
Did you set up the chime in the app as "Mechanical"? Or is it set to "Digital"?

Yes. The two-tone chime works ok. Chime settings in the app is set to digital.

Just wondering if you have any other suggestions that I could try?

try removing the doorbell, and then touch the wires together. See if the chime plays the tune when you do that.

Ok. Just to be clear you want me to remove the device that’s outside my front door correct?

That is the doorbell, yes.
This is a troubleshooting step in the manual for your chime.

Ok. Gotcha. I found that troubleshooting manual for the chime as well.
when I touch the two wires together the two-tone chime rings.

Yeah. But that also works when you press the doorbell.
The question is whether a tune also will play when the chime is configured to play a tune.

I can’t seem to get the chime to play any of the tunes. It may be an issue with the Hampton Bay door chime and not Arlo. At this point I’m not sure what to do. It’s a shame because it’s the whole reason I chose this door chime.
if you have any other suggestions I’m open to them. Otherwise thanks for your time on this. I appreciate it.

If it fits this criteria it should be compatible with Arlo. The Arlo Audio Doorbell is compatible with AC-powered mechanical and digital chimes operating between 8-24 volts. The Arlo Audio Doorbell is not compatible with wireless door chimes or any chime or intercom system using a DC transformer.

Hi,
thanks for your reply. My doorbell chime fits the criteria you outlined but my doorbell still won’t play any chime but the two-tone chime (which it now plays 3 times in a row! Ugh!)

Can you run through these steps and see if it changes the melody?

Hi @BrookeN
@VOC doesn't have an Arlo chime, he is trying to get his doorbell to work with a HB-7612-02 digital chime made by Hampton Bay.

What @StephenB said. Also, my Arlo doorbell has stopped working completely now. No power regardless of what I try. Not my week for doorbells. 🙁

My apologies, I knew that too since we were just talking about the Hampton Bay chime. Since you are no longer able to get your doorbell to work, I am going to have you reach out to support.
You get that by going in the support area of the app (not my.arlo.com), and selecting a camera in a subscription plan. Scroll down to the contact section, and you will see an option for phone support. It is available between 6 am and 6 pm US pacific time.
