I installed an Arlo Doorbell, only to discover that I can't add it to any of my Custom Modes.

 

I purchased this doorbell to replace a camera I had over the front door... only to find out that it's not a replacement for a camera... AS IT CAN'T BE ADDED TO CUSTOM MODES.

 

Awesome, am I missing something, or did Arlo just screw me?

Is this connected to WiFi or a base/hub? Do you mean that you can't add the doorbell to a custom mode by itself or for one created for cameras connected to a base/hub?

You must connect the doorbell to your base station first, not WiFi.  I added mine to my other cameras and custom modes work just fine.

I’m having the same problem. It shows up under the basic “armed” mode, but when I try to add it to my custom modes, it’s not in the list.

How is your doorbell synced? Is it connected directly to your home router or is it synced to an Arlo Base Station or SmartHub?

I believe it’s connected to our base station.
