My arlo doorbell blows the transformer when the button in pushed on the doorbell.
What is the transformer spec (both VAC and VA)?
Can you measure the voltage, just to make sure the transformer is working properly?

When I hooked it up it was reading around 18V. It worked for a couple days until the button got pushed not the transformer reads around 1V

This is very unusual - not something I've seen posted here before, and certainly not something I've seen myself. Is there also a chime on the circuit?
It's possible that the transformer was defective in some way. But it would be prudent to exchange the doorbell. If you can exchange it with the seller, that would be fastest/easiest.
If that is not possible, you can contact support and ask for an RMA. You will need to pay for shipping the doorbell to Arlo (Arlo will pay for shipping the replacement).
