Arlo Video Doorbells

I am looking for a video doorbell and interested in the Arlo Essentials Video Doorbell (wired).  What would I need to integrate with Apple HomeKit?  I’ve read that I may need a Smart Hub or base station.  It would help if someone would help guide me with specific models.

You will need a base.  Compatible models for the AVD1001 are here:

Note the VMB4540 and VMB5000 also support the direct access to local storage feature, which might also be of interest.  One caveat - although many people do use that feature instead of paying for a subscription plan, IMO the experience is much better with a subscription.

The integration is limited, as Arlo doesn't support Homekit Secure Video.  There is some info here on what they do support:
