I have an Arlo base station with 4 Pro 2 cameras connected and the installation of all of those was straightforward and, in fact, easy. I purchased an Arlo Video Doorbell to add to the system and the set up, including connecting the small, white, bypass “thingy” to the existing chime box, went according to the script the app provided for the process. Now that it’s connected, the only sound that is triggered when I press the button on the bell is a call on my phone. The Arlo video doorbell does not trigger the existing chime box. I’m positive it’s connected properly and working. the existing chime box works with a Ring doorbell when I connect it (I wanted to switch so that all my home security devices are in the same ecosystem).  I do not have a multimeter and can’t locate the transformer. However, as I said, the existing chime box works just fine with a Ring doorbell.

I have searched the previous posts and see some solutions. Like:

1. Disconnecting the white bypass thingy seems to only work temporarily.

2. Others seem to get frustrated, return the Arlo video doorbell and install Ring.

Can anyone help please? Any help is greatly appreciated.

scarson28,

If you are sure everything is wired correctly and you're still not getting any chime functionally after a doorbell press, this could indicate a power issue or a compatibility issue with your chime box. If you're not able to check the transformer voltage, I recommend you contact the Arlo Support Team or an electrician to further troubleshoot the issue.
