After installing the doorbell and returning the power the device flashes white fast. It never turns solid white to start the QR code read.

I've tried:

  • Resetting the device (pin in the back for 15 seconds)
  • Powering off the device for 15 minutes
  • Forcing the router to use 2.4 Ghz
  • Reading the community posts for any ideas
  • Contacting Customer Service (But unable to for a new device?! WTH)

@JamesC or @ShayneS might be able to assist there.

However, it might be faster/easier to exchange the doorbell with the seller.

Just to clarify - are you getting to the point in the install where the doorbell scans the QR code?  Or are you seeing it flashing immediately when you restore power?

Have you tried reaching out via the Arlo Mobile App by navigating to Settings/System/Support?

Hey guys. Thanks for the response. I think the doorbell defeated me and I ended up returning the device. It was getting stuck between power and scanning. Didn’t get an amber but I also didn’t get a solid white light and I never pushed the button. It was just flashing a white light rapidly.

I did call support. I had to pay $10 to reach a person since I couldn’t get my free trial activated and then after an unsuccessful instead I asked if they would refund the charge since I was going to return the device. They refused.

I used to really like Arlo but the customer support phone number support needs to be a lot better. That really worried me.

You didn't reach Arlo support - you Googled for it. Support is found using the app in Settings, Support.

FWIW, the way I read the post @mykolgzy purchased a subscription, and then contacted support using the app.

Though maybe I misunderstood it.

@StephenB You are correct.

@jguerdat I did both. You can’t get ahold of anyone unless you have the support tied to your number, so I bought it thinking we would get it sorted.
