Hello Everyone,
Got the costco bundle recently and the pro cameras are easy to setup with the base station. Our town homes are constructed in 1980 and unfortunately dont have any kind of doorbell connection. Whats the best way to setup my arlo video doorbell? Do i need to get any additional equipment for it to work?? Let me know. I saw something for nest but i am a complete rookie trying to secure the surroundings and any helps is appreciated. Thank you !!!

The video doorbell requires a doorbell transformer which you likely don't have. I use a plug-in transformer to provide power which I've plugged into an outdoor outlet and hidden the wire as best I can.

It may depend on whether you own the town home or renting. It also depends on whether you want to plug a transformer in outdoors or somehow snake it out from an indoor plug. You could potentially install a regular doorbell transformer and wire it normally (or have an electrician do it).

So the regular door bell transformer actually with the sound one ? And replace the outside with the Arlo bell once it's installed ? Am I correct ?

The transformer you found should work since it has the same specs as the one I used.
The sound will come from your phone when the button is pressed. You'll get a "call" - it seems like a regular phone call but it's not. You could add the Arlo chime but you'd also have to buy a base station to make that work. As for using an Echo or Google home, I haven't tried that so I can't be sure.

I'm not sure what you're asking here.

If you plug the wall transformer into an indoors outlet, you'll have to find a way to run the wire so it doesn't get damaged when opening and closing the door. Otherwise, that's all you need to do to get the doorbell to work - no need to use the power adapter that comes with the doorbell since that's for an existing chime. When someone pushes the doorbell, you phone will ring and you can proceed as you desire (answer the call, decline it or just go answer the door).
