Does motion within activity zones initiate notifications only, recordings only, or both?
I only seem to be able to create rectangular activity zones, but the video explaining them seems to show the ability to pull points into non-rectangular shapes. How does one do that?

Whenever there is motion detected (whether in the zones or not), the video is streamed from the doorbell to the Arlo Cloud. The Cloud then analyzes the video, and determines if the motion is inside the zones or not. If it is outside, the notification and the cloud recording are both supressed. If it is inside, then you will get the cloud recording. Normally you will get the notification too - that depend the smart filter settings you use, and whether notifications are muted or not.

Some cameras have 8 point activity zones, where you can change the shape by pulling the points. Others including the AVD1001) have just simple rectangles.
