I have the above video doorbell. Last year we lost electricity numerous times and then for a period of 1 hour. The doorbell was completely dead. After a few conversations with the Arlo Support they sent me a new video doorbell. In just the last week we had the same electricity problem and lost the second doorbell. I do not believe that Arlo will replace this one but I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problems and how they were able to prevent it from happening again and if they were able to get their doorbell working again. We live in the country and occasionally have power loss. The blizzard weather in the mid-west has not made things any better. Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you, Roger

Have you seen any damage to other electronics (not protected by a surge protector) when the power fails?

When power is lost, the small internal battery runs out and needs to be recharged before the doorbell will work again. After power is applied wait at least 15 minutes for the battery to have enough charge to start operating again.
An alternative would be to use the wireless doorbell AVD2001 since it uses a battery, not transformer power.
